Life

*Disclaimer, this is just going to be a LOT of word vomit*
The older I get the more I realize that life is good at throwing you some really good curve balls.
It seems like just when things are getting really good, that's when it's time for a new "adventure", I guess you could say.
This summer (and this whole year so far) has been quite an adventure.
I'm learning so much about myself.
I'm realizing more now than ever I don't like being alone for too long.
I've never liked being alone.
I was basically an only child growing up, my sister is 18 years older than me and my brother is 14... I think.
My mom (who is amazing) was a single mom and worked a full time job through all of my years living with her.
Not to say I spent a lot of time alone, I was at the babysitters house or hanging out with a friend.
But I still don't like being alone.
I don't mind it, but I really enjoy the company of another human being.
I enjoy going to work because I get to be around people.
I've learned a lot about what I want in a relationship.
I know I do want to get married one of these days.
And I WILL NOT make divorce an option.
There will be some extenuating circumstances where divorce is best.
But I'm going to do my best to never get to that point, or if I am to work on things really really hard.
I owe it to the relationship and the children (well, the future ones anyway) .
I'll admit, this year has had some pretty big tests to my strength.
I won't go into big details.
No need for excessive drama.
But I have learned some key things in the mix of everything.
Kyle and I are a very strong couple.
I'm glad for that.
I jokingly say "Kyle seems to be the only constant in my life."
My relationship with my mother included, that's the truth.
The relationship I have with my mom is so strong.
I don't know what I'd do without her.
She's my best friend and the one I go to for EVERYTHING.
She's wiser beyond her years. She has an answer for everything. I feel like I'm a "new soul" in this world. I needed a mom like her to help me stay strong and keep truckin. (:
I'm so lucky.
Kyle and I have learned a lot about us, too.
We've learned that we're pretty tough. haha.
When we went to Puerto Rico in February, we sat up the night before we left and talked about how we felt like everything from that point on was going to be so amazing.
Money was going to be good, business was going to be good.
But things didn't turn out the way we thought they would.
At all. Haha.
Money got really tight.
Kyle ended up having to scale back his hours (to none) at Primerica because his financial status wasn't good.
He's now got a job at NuSkin.
The situation isn't ideal, but to get to the top you've got to stop at the bottom. The VERY bottom.
I miss Primerica very very much. I know Kyle does, too.
BUT we'll be back.
It's going to take us some time to get there. But we'll get there.
That's where Kyle belongs.
I've never seen him so happy except for when he's there. That's what he was meant to do. This is going to sound corny, but his heart sings when he's working there.
He loves that he's helping people save money and get to retirement.
He loves that he's getting people away from awful Whole Life insurance policies. He loves it.
And frankly, I do too.
I can't wait for things to get back to where Kyle is at his happiest.
But all of this has taught us an incredible lesson:
1. We weren't ready for the success that Primerica will someday bring us.
2. I'm sticking with this guy. He's got some incredible things in store for us in the future.
3. It may not make any sense to you why we're doing what we're doing, but it makes sense to us.
4. We learned through our circumstances and others that our relationship really is something special
5. We can get through anything.
I'm hopeful that this thing is only temporary. God gives us trials to show ourselves what we're made of and how strong we are.
Sometimes I even surprise myself.
Things are going to get better.
They just have to take some time to really let us appreciate what we have.
